Visa And MasterCard Are Suspending Services To Sanctioned Russian Banks

Russia may develop its own card payment system.

Faisal Khan‘s insight:

Poke the bear a bit too much and there is bound to be a reaction. If China joins Russia with the card payment system this can be big blow to the giants Visa and Mastercard. Think Africa (which China literally has 1000s of inroad in), would love to hop to an alternative payment network. Add India to the mix and you have a very, very powerful network.

Banking, Money, Finance and Payments Wiki

Payments Wiki

After years of deliberation and bouncing the idea of constructing a comprehensive Wiki for Banking, Money, Finance and Payments, I finally decided to take the plunge. The goal is to just get working on it. It will take its shape later on, but I don’t want it to be just an idea in my head. Need to take the first step and get moving with it.

I’ve set a goal with myself. In one year’s time, this will be one of the most comprehensive resources on the Internet for all things, banking, payments, money and finance.

The temporary URL for the Wiki is http://paymentswiki.wikispaces.com - eventually, I will place it on a dedicated domain.
